New exciting changes at our Food Distribution!

It is with great joy that we announce two changes to our food distribution:

1. Redhill food distribution now starts at 10.30am

After careful consideration and feedback from our community, we’ve decided to change the event timing permanently to start at 10.30am: this earlier time allows us our aging beneficiaries to avoid the peak heat while collecting the food and maximizes our impact.

This means that the volunteers will now expect to be active between 10.30am and 12.30pm when joining our food distribution in Redhill.

We are still supporting the Kim Tian location at 2pm.

    2. New Telok Blangah Rise location at 11.15am

We have expanded our program to blocks 29 and 41 in this nearby area, where we are proudly serving already more than 25 new beneficiaries!

The food distribution will start at 11.15am and is fully set up in self-service mode.

    FAQ

What changes with the new timing for volunteers and sponsors?

The only change is in the timing of the food distribution: Redhill will start at 10.30, Telok Blangah Rise at 11.15, and Kim Tian will remain at 2pm. No change to the way the food distribution is executed.

What is required in the new Telok Blangah Rise location?

We serve just above 25 additional food shares in this location, however no volunteers are required because this location is set up fully in self-service mode. Volunteers are welcome if they desire to see the new location, however the food distribution can be ran by 2-3 people in total.

    Why the new location?

Due to the recent en-block developments in the Henderson area, we had the chance to expand our impact beyond Redhill and we were proud to add more than 25 new beneficiaries from the nearby area of Telok Blangah Rise: this allows us to maximize our impact by reaching a new nearby community.

    Why the change in timing?

After careful consideration and feedback from our community, we’ve decided to change the start of the Redhill food distribution to 10.30am: this earlier time allows our aging beneficiaries to avoid the peak heat while collecting the food and also benefits volunteers by freeing them up early.

How many beneficiaries does Apex have with the new location?

We still serve around 150 beneficiaries and 160 shares.
