Telok Blangah Rise toy drive brought out the young crowd

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing volunteers, the Apex toy drive at Telok Blangah Rise turned into a mini festival of happy chaos today. Young visitors swooped in with laser focus, carefully “strategizing” over their picks—stuffed toys, Lego sets, puzzle boxes, and books quickly became the hottest items on the scene.

We also brought along our own team of youngster volunteers, who took their roles very seriously. They offered expert recommendations, moral support, and occasionally debating the question of the day: “Lego or plushie?” Needless to say, they worked incredibly hard (and had a lot of fun doing it).

And it wasn’t just the kids having all the fun, adults got in on the treasure hunt too. They browsed through clothes, bags, shoes, and household goodies like pillows, duvets, and even an ultrasonic cleaner. Some items were brand new!

We also discovered that our generosity levels may have exceeded our storage capacity: we had far more books and clothes than we could handle in one day. The leftover books quickly found a new home next door at the community day care, where they’re hopefully already getting cozy in little hands and big imaginations. As for the clothes, they’re setting off on their own meaningful journey and will soon be making their way to village children in the Philippines.

As always, our door (and our WhatsApp) is open—whether you’d like to lend a hand or could use one. Reach out anytime!
